Rarely. Almost all web browsers are already able to display Homelands.ca Virtual Tours - including those used by the latest Apple devices - because they almost all have Java pre-installed. However, if you are an Internet Explorer user, Sun Java works well, and we recommend a quick download and install of Sun Java to enhance your viewing on this site and others.

Unlike many Virtual Tours which require the download of a special viewer, Homelands.ca uses a small Java Applet which doesn't require a special download. It is available immediately. There are only rare instances when a person browsing may not have Java enabled or installed. Here is a link to Sun Java for a free download, for those who may need to install Java.

How does Homelands.ca display the Virtual Tour on your website?

With your first Homelands.ca Virtual Tour comes a new page for your web-site. It's a one-time process that will allow all your Homelands Virtual Tours to be viewed from your web-site.

Two steps to your own Virtual Tour Page:

  • Homelands.ca creates a customized Virtual Tour Page and a custom Viewer branded with your logo.

  • That new page is loaded onto your website, with a link created from your Home Page to your new Virtual Tour page. Upload of the new Virtual Tour Page to your web-site and creation of the link on your Home Page is normally handled by Homelands.ca or by your web-manager. When Homelands.ca uploads the page and creates your home-page link, we would need to have upload access to your website. We would arrange this directly with you or your web-manager, either in person or by phone.

That's it. Now, every time a new Virtual Tour is created it automatically shows up on your web-site, added to any you already have.

Once your new Virtual Tour page is functional, all of your Homelands.ca Virtual Tours are instantly available at your web-site. Homelands.ca web-server and Virtual Tour technology is always linked to your Virtual Tour page, a full-time connection that provides you with 24/7 display of your first Virtual Tour and any subsequent Virtual Tours you may order from Homelands.ca.
